It took a two decades to build the
CDI database to its current size and shape
(the groundwork was laid in 1982).
Its creation and continuous upkeep is a matter of complex and costly work
spread across four continents. Ordinarily, a CD-ROM database of this size
would sell for $1,000 or more per disc. Luckily, it's not the case with ours.
The popularity and resulting sales of both our
books and
CD-ROM
allow us to keep the prices affordable, at only a small fraction
of that amount.
Single-Disc Orders
A single-disc order is the recommended choice for the occassional user
who is in need of
a comprehensive, global CD database but does not require
frequent updates.
The price of a single disc is only $149, plus a small shipping & handling charge.
All orders are filled with the latest available edition and shipped within
1 business day.
Subscriptions
Subscriptions (especially monthly subscriptions) are the most popular option
and comprise the biggest part of our sales. They are the preferred choice for
anyone in need of comprehensive and up-to-date information:
Serious CD collectors, music store managers, web site operators,
exporters, importers, distributors and wholesalers, libraries,
record label executives and other music industry professionals.
It is easy to see why: The music industry is changing so quickly we record
between 1,000 and 5,000 changes in our database every single day.
This rapid pace makes regular updates a must to prevent your CD-ROM
database from becoming obsolete and unreliable.
The initial disc of your subscription will cost you the same $149
plus shipping as in a single-disc order. That's also the last time you will
ever pay the full price, as long as your subscription remains active.
All subsequent CD-ROM discs are deeply discounted as follows:
- Monthly subscription (= 12 discs per year): $29 per disc
- Bi-monthly subscription (= 6 discs per year): $49 per disc
- Quarterly subscription (= 4 discs per year): $69 per disc
- Semi-annual subscription (= 2 discs per year): $119 per disc
Shipping & handling charges apply to each disc.
All new subscription orders are activated (and the initial disc is shipped)
within 1 business day.
By taking out a subscription, you are not entering into any long-term obligation;
you may cancel any time. There are no renewals either.
Each subscription simply runs perpetually unless the subscriber tells us to stop,
be it in one month or twenty years. You are in full control.
You may also change the update frequency any time you wish, to keep it in line
with your changing requirements. It couldn´t be easier!
Note: Frequency changes and/or subscription cancellations must be done
in writing (by e-mail, fax or letter) and become effective 30 days from the day
of receipt. No returns/no refunds for CD-ROMs already shipped.
Payment: Customers having no credit cards may pay by
personal check (USA only!), money order (USA & Canada) or
bank draft (worldwide).
Such subscriptions must be pre-paid on an annual basis, for the entire year in advance.
In case of a frequency change or subscription cancellation you are entitled to a refund
for unshipped CD-ROM issues (if any).
Subscribers paying with Visa or MasterCard are charged for each
disc separately shortly before shipping. We do not require annual
prepayment. This way you can spread your payments evenly over time, avoiding large
one-time expenses. Of course you can change the credit card any time you wish.
Note: To qualify for this "pay-as-you-go" arrangement, your credit card
must remain in good standing. In case your card declines two or more times,
you will be required to pay for your subscription up front on annual basis
from that point on.
Shipping & Handling
The shipping & handling charge is a flat $6.95 per disc.
It applies to all single-disc and subscription orders, domestic and foreign.
All domestic orders are sent by First Class Mail,
all foreign orders by Letter-Post/Air Mail.
Note: Express delivery by FedEx, USPS, UPS or DHL (USA: overnight, overseas:
1-3 days depending on the country of destination) is available upon special request
and subject to additional, in some cases substantial charges.
Warranty
We guarantee our CD-ROMs to be free of material defects for100 years
or the life of the user, whichever lasts longer.
If your disc becomes defective for any reason whatsoever, contact our
technical support and we will replace your disc
with another copy of exactly the same issue.
Replacement of a defective disc is our only responsibility and legal liability.
Returns of non-defective discs are not permitted. No exceptions.
